Compared to last week: Combined weighted average for 7 auctions: Ada, Apache, McAlester, OKC, OKC West, Tulsa, and Woodward. Feeder cattle opened the week on a lower note but by midweek demand improved and feeder steers and heifers sold 2.00-4.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves not well tested. The story this week was spring storms and heavy rains that created massive flooding across the state. OKC West moved their Tuesday calf sale to Wednesday as many roads in the area were closed due to flooding. 7-8 inches of rain fell in the El Reno area and up to 10 inches fell in the North Eastern part of the state on Tuesday alone. More rains came to that area of the state and numerous rivers and creeks were well out of their banks. The ground has been so saturated that water is very slow to recede. Rain is still in the forecast but it seems upcoming forecasts has more dry days than not. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 lower. Packer demand moderate.
