Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 6.00 to 12.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Quite a few of the feeders came from backgrounding lots with some off short summer grass. Hot summer days along with high heat index may have taken a little demand off of the feeder cattle sector. Few, reports that some feedlots lost some heavy weight feeders and when this happens buyers are slow to restock empty pens. Also, with the result of the lost of almost ready fat cattle, feedlot managers took lower cash bids trying to move cattle before another round of high heat index prevails the first full week of July. Dressed sales sold 5.00 lower at 403.00 and live sales sold 3.00 to 4.00 lower from 255.00 to 256.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
