Compared to last week steers less 600 lbs sold 10.00 lower on light test, 600 to 800 lbs sold 20.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold 6.00 to 8.00 lower. Heifers less than 700 lbs sold 15.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold 3.00 to 10.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for a rather heavy offering for the last May. Spotty rain showers across the state. Overall moisture still at records lows and most of the state continues in a deep drought situation. Cattlemen continue to sell would be grass cattle and cow/calf pairs trying to get to a number that their range land can handle through the summer. Some talks of dry-lotting cow/calf pairs and other heifers getting serviced by a bull. Very tough decisions to be made for the rancher or livestock owners that need range land to graze or hay to feed on how many animals will need to be sold. Feedlot trade on dressed sales 5.00 lower at 405.00

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
