Compared to last week most weights of steers less than 800 lbs sold 10.00 higher. 8 weight steers sold 2.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold 10.00 higher on a very thin test. Heifers less than 600 lbs sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher, 6 weights sold 10.00 higher, 700 to 900 lbs sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold 10.00 on a very thin test. Demand was mostly good, with very good demand for replacement heifers and for bred heifers and cows. Another week of several buyers looking for replacement heifers. Some are buying average quality heifers with other seeking the top of the shelf heifers. Several of the prospective heifers will be developed and sold as bred females last of this year and into 2027. Feedlots traded live sales unevenly steady from 238.00 to 241.00 and dressed sales sold 3.00 higher at 378.00. Hay market remains mostly slow with a decent amount of hay sitting around the state. Last year the market saw an sharp upward tick in May before the late spring rains arrived. Be interesting, what the future of the hay market will be this spring.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
