Compared to last week very light run, this weeks heavy supply had light weight steers selling 40.00 higher, 500 to 800 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold steady to 6.00 higher. On the lightweight heifers sold 35.00 higher, 500 weights sold 20.00 higher, 600 to 800 lsb sold 10.00 to 15.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold 9.00 to 13.00 higher. Demand was good to very good the first full week of the year. Heavy supply of cattle across the state did not deter buyers from stepping up and filling loads to head south for winter grazing or to stay local for this summer turnout. Some cattle will go to the surrounding states to be placed on feed. Unbelievable prices going back to the rancher this year with some top quality replacement heifers going back to the breeding pastures this summer. Feedlot trade saw live sales steady at 232.00 and dressed sales sold 5.00 higher at 265.00.
