Compared to last week's thin test of the market, 4 and 6 weight steers sold 20.00 higher with most all other weights of steers 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifers fall calves and yearlings sold 2.00 to 10.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for top quality bovine genetics with most coming off summer grass and a few lots out of grow yards. Bassett livestock kicked off the sale week with their annual BBQ sale and Ericson livestock ended the week with there BBQ auction. With a few, darn good sales in between. Order and farmer/feeder buyers were on the seats and at home on the internet bidding readily for the packages and load lots of cattle. Record prices and shell shock sellers with huge smiles and checks as they leave the sale has brought great excitement to the cattle sales with prices like 2025 has brought to the producers. Feedlot sales traded at 380.00 cash and grid base on dressed sales and 240.00 on a live basis. Corn crops on a whole look like it could be bountiful with some fields starting to tassel. Rains showers have been spotty with some hail in many areas. Overall, the state looks rather good, still some dryness in the soil profile but in way better shape than 45 days ago.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
