Compared to last week, steers less than 700 lbs sold 2.00 to 8.00 lower, 700 to 900 lbs sold 1.00 to 8.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold 3.00 lower. Heifers less than 700 lbs sold 4.00 to 10.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for calves and yearlings and cow/calf pairs. Some cattle sold this week are usually held until the summer BBQ runs but due to dry grass conditions some cattle opted to sell now and for record prices in some weight ranges. Crawford livestock had several load of low 8 weight steers dropping the auctioneers' gavel at 322.00 and some 850 weights at 320.00! But to cap the week off feedlots sales hit another new high in the market with live sales from 225.00 to 228.00 and dressed sales mostly 355.00 with some at 360.00!
