Compared to last week, steers less than 600 lbs sold 10.00 to 20.00 lower, over 600 lbs sold 2.00 to 6.00 lower. Heifers from 400 to 500 lbs and 600 to 700 lbs sold 15.00 to 20.00 lower with all other weights trending steady to 6.00 lower. Demand was moderate at best at early week sales as the CME cattle boards traded lower. By weeks close demand increased as some markets posted higher prices than the week before. Many lots of cattle starting to display a little extra flesh do to the mostly warm winter and excelling on their feeding rations with top quality genetics. Slaughter steers and heifers sold 2.00 lower for the week with live FOB sales at 208.00 and dressed delivered 328.00 respectively.
