Compared to last week light calves not well tested. Yearling steers weighing 700 lbs and 900 lbs steers sold 5.00 to 6.00 lower, with 8 weights trading sharply lower on the week. (8 weight yearling steers are trading below last year's prices for the same week.) Yearling heifers traded 3.00 to 10.00 lower. Demand was mostly moderate. With the sharp decline on the CME live and feeder cattle boards prospective buyers studied and purchased cattle at a slower and cheaper rate at area auctions. Feedlot sales backed a few dollars with live sales 3.00 lower at mostly 193.00 and dressed sales 5.00 lower at 305.00.
