Compared to last week steers under 700 lbs sold steady to 2.00 lower, 7 weight steers sold 6.00 lower and over 800 lbs sold steady. Heifer calves under 600 lbs sold steady, 6 weight heifers 10.00 lower, over 700 lbs sold unevenly steady. Demand was moderate to good. That time of year where the bulk of the receipts are bawling calves coming right off the cow. Most consignments would have precondition vaccinations that the buyer is seeking. Especially, the respiratory shots. Feedlot cash trade sold live sales 1.00 to 2.00 higher from 186.00 to 187.00 and dressed sales 2.00 higher at 294.00. Harvest is in full swing with several yield reports on irrigated ground has been in the mid 200 range on corn. Soybean harvest has been ok on the most part with most farmers not bragging about the end results this year.
