Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold sharply higher. With only two auction markets holding feeder cattle sales, the market was very active at both locations. Record highs on negotiated feedlot sales, tight feeder cattle numbers, CME cattle boards blasting to new highs and the CME corn futures banging around the low to mid 5.00 range helped this market take off. How long will it hold? Everyone in the livestock and commodity business is probably looking into their crystal ball trying to see the future to pinpoint their next move.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
