Compared to last week steers sold 5.00 to 7.00 lower and heifers sold mostly steady with 500 weight trading 5.00 higher. Demand was good for the light supply of calves and feeders on hand. Lower trading CME cattle futures might have had some effect on the lower trending auctions. Quite a few fires across the state will have a huge impact on cattle not getting sent to summer grass. Several thousand acres of Sandhills pastures have been destroyed in the last couple of weeks. Mother Nature needs to bring some all-day rains to help heal these regions. Hard to say how long these natural pastures will have to set ideal before they can be restocked to manageable numbers. Nebraska feedlot trade was unevenly steady on the week. Live sales ranged from 180.00 to 185.00 and dressed sales from 288.00 to 290.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
