Compared to last week steers under 600 lbs sold 10.00 lower, 600 to 700 lbs sold 3.00 higher and over 700 lbs sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Heifers under 700 lbs sold mostly 2.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Downward pressure on outside fundamentals took a little upward momentum off the slaughter cattle sales. Feedlot trade on steers and heifers was 1.00 lower on live and dressed sales, 164.00 and 264.00 respectively. With the first day of spring upon us this Monday, hopefully warmer temperatures will prevail and the area will get some spring showers to help green up pastures and place some subsoil moisture in the ground before spring planting starts.
