Compared to last week, bawling steer calves under 500 lbs sold steady, 500 to 600 lbs calves sold 10.00 lower. Feeder cattle from 600 to 700 lbs sold 8.00 higher, 700 to 900 lbs sold unevenly steady and over 900 lbs sold 4.00 higher. Bawling heifer calves under 600 lbs sold 4.00 to 8.00 lower, 600 to 700 lbs feeder cattle sold 4.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold steady. Demand was moderate to good, with very good demand for steers and heifers that were certified as NHTC (non-hormone treated cattle). With calves being comingled at area auctions, getting to dusty weaning pens many buyers are looking for bawlers that have had fall vaccinations especially, a respiratory vaccine. Fall harvest continues from east to west in the state. Ranging from combining soybeans, picking dry corn, high moisture corn, edible beans and silage chopping. Most reports on bushels of soybeans and corn have been better than the producer thought it would be! Nebraska feedlots had a tick of an upward push on their sales this week. Live sales traded 1.00 to 2.00 higher from 144.00 to 145.00 and dressed sales sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher from 228.00 to 232.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
