Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary

Mon Oct 11, 2021
USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News · Federal-State Market News Service, Kearney, NE (LS-WH)
Receipts 29,170Last week 24,729Year ago 34,408

Compared to last week steers calves under 600 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher, 600 to 700 lbs sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Yearling steers sold steady to 3.00 higher. Heifer calves sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower with yearlings steady to 3.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for the large supply of bawling calves hitting the market. A few less receipts than last year as some consignments were cancelled in the Western part of the state due to rain and snow. Plus, some ranchers sold off cows due to the drought conditions and this will contribute to the lower feeder cattle receipts. Nebraska feedlot trade mostly steady on live and dressed sales at 124.00 and 196.00 respectively.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
