Compared to last week, steers under 700 lbs sold unevenly steady. Over 700 lbs sold steady to 1.00 higher. Heifers under 600 lbs sold 2.00 to 7.00 higher with all other weights steady. Demand was good for all weights of steers and heifers. Some cattle out of backgrounding lots with others coming off grass pastures. A few spring born bawling calves in the mix. Rather large sales this week compared to receipts from last year. West Point Livestock held their annual BBQ sale last Monday and had the 2021 LMA champion livestock auctioneer Chuck Bradley helping with the sale chant.
