Compared to last week steers under 700 lbs sold 10.00 to 15.00 higher, 700 to 800 lbs steers sold 2.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Heifers under 700 lbs sold 6.00 to 8.00 higher, 700 to 800 lbs sold 4.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Demand was very good for cattle going to summer grass and for replacement type heifers with moderate to good demand for feedlot placements. Cattle auctions are starting to wrap up for the fall and spring runs with most auctions going to every other week or longer between their next special sales. Rains and snow across the cornhusker state this last week bringing much needed moisture to the sandhills and other areas. If the thermometer wouldn’t dip below freezing it would be beneficial for all outdoor crops. Feedlots traded cash show list a 1.00 higher on live and dressed sales from 123.00-124.00 and 196.00 respectively.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
