Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 550 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 higher, over 550 lbs steady to 5.00 lower. Feeder heifers unevenly steady. The market is very active on light weight and fleshed cattle to background, it's still active on the heavier cattle bound for finishing yards but cattle feeders are a little more wary as they still feel the sting on cattle they sold after the mid-October collapse. Feeder cattle and fat cattle, both, have regained those levels but the Live Cattle futures is struggling to keep up with the cash trade. Lots of demand seen for replacement quality heifers. Very mild weather, for February made it easier for cattle producers to get their stock shipped to town this week as they look to capitalize on this market.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
