Compared to last week: Only 1 reported auction a week ago as most locations were closed for the holidays, no recent price comparisons available. All auction markets were back to their regular sale schedules. Much higher undertones as a lot has changed in the market place since the Christmas break began. Cash fed cattle up to 205.00 this week lit a fire under the feeder cattle market as cattle feeders with outgoing fed cattle being very profitable, in spite of the record high feeder cattle market when those cattle were placed on feed. Cattle feeders and backgrounders are extremely bullish as the cash markets have shot up faster than the CME cattle futures contracts can keep up with, which has lead them to believe that this bull run is not just a flash in the pan.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
