North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Receipts 3,017Last week 794Year ago 3,264

Good demand for all weights of feeder steers and heifers this week, too few offered in recent weeks to make a price comparison, higher undertones evident. Only 1 reported auction this week as the feeder cattle marketing season winds down. Grass is growing and cattle are turned out and the feeder cattle market is incredibly active as the supply is tight. Cash fed cattle up to 193.00, keeping a 10.00 positive basis over the futures contracts. This report will be released again when the late summer/early fall marketing season begins.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
