Compared to last week: A lighter offering of feeder cattle, in a narrow comparison steers and heifers unevenly steady. Demand remains very good for all weights of steers and heifers, especially those suitable to run on grass as yearlings, but there was some pressure on the market as the futures contracts failed to follow the cash market. Packers bid lower this week, buying few cattle as cattle feeders know they currently hold all the leverage but they know that can quickly change as the summer months see ample supplies of calf fed cattle ready for market.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
