Compared to last week: Feeder steers 3.00 to 6.00 higher, instances to 10.00 higher. Feeder heifers 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers as there was new life breathed into the feeder cattle market after the annual Cattle Inventory Report confirmed lower supplies of feeder cattle and cows. There is great interest for light cattle to run as yearlings on this summer's grass as the late summer/fall months of the Feeder Cattle futures climbed over the 200.00 mark. Cattle feeders were able to push the fed cattle market to 161.00, bringing it back to par with Feb futures contract. This fact also helped to add support to the feeder market.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
