Compared to last week: Steer calves under 600 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower, over 600 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 lower. Heifer calves 10.00 to 15.00 lower. Only moderate demand this week for steer and heifer calves as a large winter storm struck the area at midweek causing some auction cancellations and postponements. Buyers had a difficult time securing trucks to quickly haul purchased calves from the auctions, which had a large affect on the market. Auction receipts expected to be much larger again after cattle producers get dug out and are able to get cattle shipped to town again.
