Compared to last week: Steer calves unevenly steady, heifer calves 3.00 to 4.00 lower. Good demand again for spring born calves as cattle producers continue to wean and ship their calves right to the auction. As such a great volume of cattle are being moved across the northern plains availability of trucks has become an issue and this put pressure on the market this week as some buyers are not able to secure the trucks they needed and didn't buy as many cattle as they wanted to. The cash fed cattle market popped up to 130.00 this week, a great victory for the cattle industry as prices have been stuck in the mid 120s for months. Cattle feeders are feeling a little more optimism for the future.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
