North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Compared to last week: Few comparable sales of feeder steers and heifers steady to 4.00 higher. Good to very good demand, especially on those light weight, light fleshed steers and heifers that will run as yearlings on grass this summer. CME Live Cattle futures were suffering triple digit losses from Tues through Thurs which kept some pressure on the heavier weight feeder cattle. Each passing week gets us one week closer to green grass and also sees fewer of those light cattle available to make yearlings of which is resulting in a very competitive market. The market is very active on these light cattle.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
