North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Receipts 12,982Last week 11,953Year ago 10,947

Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher, feeder heifers under 600 lbs 3.00 to 6.00 higher, over 600 lbs 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Good to very good demand this week. As Feb Live Cattle futures began the week at 116.00 cattle feeders were feeling a little more optimism and were willing to chase the feeder market higher. Cash fed cattle rose up to 113.00 but still failed to meet the futures and maintained a negative basis. Large auction receipts as the open weather is allowing cattle producers to easily get their cattle shipped to town.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
