Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 4.00 higher, feeder heifers under 700 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher, over 700 lbs steady to 3.00 lower except 750-800 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Good demand this week for this much larger offering. As the storm passed and temps warmed back above zero, feeder cattle producers were able to get their stock loaded out and shipped to the auctions. Best demand remains for lighter weight cattle that can be backgrounded or put into farmer feeders' feedyard pens. The cattle futures were much lower over the course of the week which put some pressure on the market, especially for those bigger cattle that are bound for finishing. The flesh condition of the light cattle that have been just hay fed, is really attractive as the weather has been tough making it hard for those cattle to maintain their condition.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
