Compared to last week, steers steady to 5.00 higher, spots up to 10.00 higher. Heifers steady to 5.00 higher. Buyers continue to want good long weaned cattle with shots and giving unweaned, unvaccinated calves discounts. A typical October price spread continues to be seen, with cold weather not too far away. Hay supply is not a major concern for many around the state, but in the backs of minds as fall is here. Demand was good on a moderate supply. There were 79,790 head of negotiated cash trade. Live FOB purchases were mostly 186.00 to 188.00. Dressed delivered 296.00 to 297.00. Boxed beef cuts closed on Friday at 311.22 and 288.72 for Choice and Select, respectively. This was an 8.64 gain for Choice and a 1.11 gain for Select. The Missouri Stocker Formula consists of 3600 head with a weighted average weight of 544.90 lbs. and a price value of 289.93, 10.27 higher than a week ago. The steer/heifer spread is 27.47.
