Not enough sales to establish any market trends on this shortened holiday week. A cold blast of artic air came with the arrival of the New Year. Much of north Missouri saw a few inches of snow, which changed to freezing rain and then to rain by the time you got to the southern half of the state. Barns around the state are ready to get back to business following the holidays with everyone having a full schedule of sales for the first business week of 2022. Boxed beef cutout values closed higher for the week. Choice closed on Thursday at 265.26, up 2.32 and select at 258.23, up 5.28 compared to last Thursday. Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Missouri barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
