Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 8.00 lower. Demand was moderate. Ranchers are taking a step back and adjusting to what the market prices have done over the past month. Calf runs will be in the near future now as range conditions have been getting worse in the extreme heat the past couple weeks. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 lower. In the hay market, demand and movement remained steady. Drought conditions across much of the state continue to intensify, placing additional stress on crop and hay production. Hay supplies remain tight, with significant volumes moving out of state to meet demand. Prices have begun to increase as available supplies become more limited.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
