Compared to last week, steers sold uneven; 3.00 lower to 3.00 higher. Heifers sold 3.00 to 10.00 higher. Demand was moderate. Limited trading of slaughter cows and bulls so no trend available. Compared to last week, very limited trading of Kansas negotiated fed cattle sold 2.00 to 3.00 higher at 232.00 to 233.00. In the hay market, hay movement remained steady across the state. Many producers have begun third cutting alfalfa, with yields reported as near to below average. Quality has been reported as very good where producers were able to bale ahead of recent rainfall. Brome hay yields and quality continue to vary significantly by region, while prairie hay harvest is just beginning in many areas of the state.
