Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves not well tested, however yearling steers and heifers sld 3.00 to 8.00 higher. Demand was good on light to moderate supply. Breaking and Boning slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher, while Lean cows sold 6.00 to 9.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 4.00 to 5.00 higher. In the feedlot trade, negotiated live slaes in Kansas sold 4.00 to 5.00 higher at 235.00 to 236.00. In the hay market, demand was light, trade was slow to moderate, and prices were steady. Rain across the state continues to hamper hay harvest, but many are thankful for the rain, as it has saved their corn and sudan. Overall, most report that second cut was good to very good and yield was slightly above average. Sentiment remains that there will be plenty of grinding hay available.
