Not enough feeder cattle on offer last week for an adequate comparison, however a lower undertone noted. Slaughter cows sold unevenly steady while slaughter bulls sold steady to 4.00 higher. In the feedlot trade, negotiated live slaes in Kansas sold mostly 3.00 lower at 222.00 to mostly 225.00. In the hay market, demand was light, trade was moderate, and prices were mostly steady. Reports have come in stating that 1st and 2nd cutting has been "good" quality or higher with most reporting high yield. However, demand is still way off with most contributors reporting that they have had very few calls for new crop hay.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
