Compared to last week, Feeder Steers sold 2.00 to 6.00 Higher and Heifers sold steady to 10.00 higher. Demand was good. Slaughter Cows and Bulls sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. In the hay market, Demand is still low and it seems no one is too anxious to buy or sell hay. There has been no talk of new crop pricing, with most people saying they are not talking new crop until old crop is gone. This may take a bit as hay stocks are estimated to be at 1.25 million tons, up 74% from last year. In addition, several feed yards are still working through silage piles and previous purchased hay. Currently, hay is either starting to hit the ground or soon will be. Several producers state they have sold their 1st cut of new crop but no price has been determined.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
