Compared to last week, Feeder Steers sold 6.00 to 12.00 higher, with the exception of 700 lbs steers selling steady. Feeder Heifers 400 to 600 lbs sold 10.00 to 16.00 higher, 600 to 700 lbs sold 1.00 lower and above 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 7.00 higher. Slaughter Cows and Bulls sold unevenly steady 2.00 lower to 2.00 higher. Demand was good. On the Hay market this week, demand remains low for all hay and prices are soft for all regions. Warm, windy and dry conditions, in the western two-thirds of the state, continues to affect, both the wheat crop and alfalfa crop, which are going backwards. There still is not much interest in purchasing old crop grinder hay let alone new crop, as most buyers are still working through what's left of last year's inventory.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
