Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold uneven; breakers 4.00 to 5.00 lower, leans and boners steady to 1.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold 3.00 to 4.00 lower. Demand was reported throughout the state as good. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feed yards sold steady to 1.00 higher form 172.00 to 173.00. In the hay market, demand remains low, and prices steady. Due to a couple of large purchases in the southwest region, total hay bought and sold was up overall, however, that is not indicative of the market, which remains slow for most regions. Most folks are still not trading much hay and only delivering on old contracts. Many producers report that it is pretty muddy out there and a dry up would be nice. On the other hand, a winter storm may get this sluggish hay market moving.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
