Compared to last week, feeder steers overall sold 4.00 to 5.00 lower, with the exception of 500 to 600 lbs selling 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers overall sold uneven, 2.00 lower to 2.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold uneven, 1.00 lower to 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Demand was reported throughout the state as moderate to good. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feed yards sold 1 lower at 182.00. In the hay market, demand, and trade activity for the most part remained steady, however, trades of alfalfa picked up this past week for the southwest and south-central regions. Producers state that even though trades did increase for those regions, there seems to be a lot of options for end users to feed, as their reports indicate an abundance of silage and feed hay. Most producers are busy finishing corn harvest and moving on to milo and beans. Yields, for the most part, have been down.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
