Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing less than 700 lbs sold 6.00 to 8.00 higher, while those over 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Feeder heifers weighing less than 700 lbs sold 6.00 to 7.00 higher, while those over 700 lbs sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Demand was good. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feedyards sold steady at 138.00. Compared to the last report, alfalfa price was steady in some regions and $5.00 higher in others, while grass hay stayed steady and there remains an undertone of strength to the alfalfa market.
