Compared to last week: Combined weighted average for 2 Colorado auctions included: Centennial Livestock, and Livestock Exchange. Trade activity and demand moderate to good. Centennial Livestock held its monthly dairy feeder cattle sale, where producers saw trade 7.00 to 9.00 higher on dairy steers under 600 lbs and sharply higher prices on dairy steers over 600 lbs. Dairy heifers were too lightly tested to trend, but higher undertones were noted. Slaughter cows and bulls made up the bulk of the run at Livestock Exchange. Compared to the statewide average from last week, average dressing Breakers traded 2.00 to 3.50 higher, average dressing Boners .50 to 2.00 higher, average dressing Leans steady to .50 lower, and average dressing Bulls 1.50 to 2.50 higher. Bred cows, pairs, and feeding cows were too thinly traded to trend. The next available report will be Friday, August 14, 2020.
