As filedA very spring like day for this month's hay auction. The supply was heavy with quality ranging across the board providing a little something for everyone. Demand was good even with grass quickly approaching following one of the warmest February's on record. Another big crowd on hand with many trucks showing up with trailers ready and eager to buy hay. There is some concern going into the new growing season as moisture has been limited and much of the state is still in drought status. Hay prices have weakened from highs seen a couple of months ago but remain quite strong overall. Average weights provided for every lot of hay and about half of this months offering was tested.
