Moderate attendance for the second board sale of the season, trade remained active but slow. Lower trends following national patterns and the ongoing drought is having an effect on local demand as central WV moved into D3 status last week. Pasture shortages and lower than normal hay supplies common as well as reports of hauling water. Compared to last month's Board Sale Steers sold lower by $14-$19 per cwt on the heavier end of the run while six weights sold lower by $23.50 per cwt. Similar trend for the Heifers as six/seven weights sold $20-$25 per cwt lower closing to $7 per cwt lower for the eights. Should also be noted that the average weights were very similar to last reported.
