This report tracks today's Board Sale--for today's in-barn Graded Sale see Buckhannon--Special Graded Sale

1,375 head of Feeders offered today making up 21 lots for the board sale. Active buyer interest both in the barn as well as over the telephone. In that the last sale was the Beef Quality Assurance sale, an apples-to-apples market test isn't possible. Weights and quality/type of cattle follow the offering on the August Board Sale more accurately, the difference now being that a lot of pens have been filled since that sale and recent lowering Live Cattle trends affecting demand as well. Light 6 weights, both Steers and Heifers, showed the largest dip in demand while 7 weights closed the gap at $7 per cwt lower than August. Estimated weights higher for the middle run of Steers while essentially unchanged on the Heifer side.
