Compared to last Friday slaughter and feeding cows sold 5.00 to 6.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 4.00 lower. Not enough feeder cattle for a market comparison. Bulk of the cows went to feed, limited amount of cows going strait to slaughter. Very large supply of all types of cows on hand Friday as ranchers are preg checking and sending open or aged cows to town to save on winter feeding cost. Several lots of stock cows are headed to a fall or spring breeding program. Quite a few of the boning type cows returning to feed are going to recipient cows. Special bred cow and heifer sale on Monday the 13th. Feeder cattle sale on Wednesday 15th and Slaughter auction with feeders and bred cows on Friday the 17th.
