Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Larger than average attendance and very active trade today due to the Bred Cow special sale, heavy run of Replacement Cattle this week, however, Feeder and Slaughter Cattle nearly similar run as last week. Not a very strong test on Feeders, many lighter calves and quality somewhat mixed, heavier end of the run lower by $25 per cwt or more compared to last for both Steers and Heifers.

No doubt on the quality of the Replacement Cattle, much of the offering were young Cows in good flesh. Bred Cows $2,000-$3,200; Bred Heifers $2,900-$3,350; good young open Stock Cows up to $2,800.

Good quality offering continued in the Slaughter Cows, Breaker type Cows $4 per cwt higher than last week; Lean Cows slightly lower while Boner Cows and Bulls sold spot on steady.
