Very similar head run compared to last in terms of offering at today's sale, attendance slightly on the moderate side but very active trading. Warmer weather and ample moisture in N. Central WV, there was a lot of talk about turning out cattle or already having turned out. With grazing season underway there was very good demand for turn out Feeders coming off a harder wintering program. Prices firm for #1 Steers, while trending up or down given the weight breaks and flesh condition, #1Heifers lower $12-$19 per cwt but it can be noted that average weights were higher as well. However, things get interesting taking a look at the #2 Feeder prices compared to the last sale with demand higher for #2 Heifers, up $2-$7per cwt and really took off with #2 Steers $30-$45 higher per cwt. While not as common to compare #2 Feeders the market today really underscored the value having turn out cattle in the right condition for Spring marketing. Not enough volume last sale for a market test on Feeder Bulls.
