Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Thursday, not enough stocker steers or heifers and feeder heifers this week for accurate trends. Feeder steers over 700 lbs 1.00-2.00 higher. Front month feeder cattle futures finished the day with $0.95 to $1.17 gains. Feeder cattle closed $2.12 to $2.50 stronger on the board, and Nov expired at $175.85. The 11/16 CME Feeder Cattle Index was 41 cents higher to $175.39. Slaughter cows 5.00-6.00 higher. Due in part to a short sale barn schedule next week. Not enough slaughter bulls for accurate trends. Trade active with good demand. Beef bookings from the weekly Export Sales report were 13.4k MT for the week that ended 11/10. That was even with last week's sales but was half of the same week last year. Shipments were 18.2k MT for a YTD total of 825k MT - a record pace.
