Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Thursday at the same market, Stocker and feeder cattle weak to 5.00 lower with light buyer attendance. The northwest area of the U.S. enjoys the largest premium basis and this past week slaughter cattle were purchased for $6-9 over the matching delivery futures contract in the northwest for several thousand cattle each month starting in June of 2020. Slaughter cows and bulls 5.00-11.00 lower as supply again exceeds demand from local processors. Trade slow to moderate with light to moderate demand.
