Compared to last week steers and heifers sold unevenly steady throughout the day. Slaughter cows sold 5.00 lower and bulls sold 7.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good. Run comprised of small packages and single lots throughout the sale with quite a lot of variety in the run. Most of the light calves were bawlers coming off the cow at the sale. Drought conditions prevail across the trade area prompting cattlemen to sell off some of there livestock inventory as range conditions and feed resources are in short supply. Days of irrigation this growing season will be limited and adds extra pressure to a tight supply of available forage to be baled or grazed.
