Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves traded mostly 5.00 to 10.00 higher, which was in line with the the board that closed well into the green today. Not enough comparable sales on feeder steers or heifers for a market trend. Trading activity was moderate to active on good buyer demand. Slaughter cows were too lightly tested for a market trend but a lower undertone was noted. Quality was mostly plain to attractive with the majority of the supply consisting of short weaned calves. Temperatures are still 6-10 degrees above average for this time of year, but some spotty rain showers have greened up a few pastures that were lucky enough to catch a rain.
