Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on steers or heifers for a market trend due to last weeks lighter receipts. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly 5.00 higher. Quality was mixed, with the bigger drafts of yearlings consisting of plainer type cattle and the lighter weight cattle consisting of nice black calves with favorable flesh conditions. Trading activity was moderate to active on good buyer demand. The majority of the Panhandle received some much needed rain which has greened up some of the pastures. However, drought conditions persist across the majority of the region.
